Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a physical therapy used to treat chronic pain caused by shortness, sensitivity and tightness in myofascial tissues. Every muscle in your body is surrounded and supported by myofascial tissues. This therapy is popular for patients who have lost their range of motion or flexibility in recovery from injury.

Using the Myofascial Release Technique, Carol scans the body to detect areas that may be twisted and tight, and will correct these areas in the process. This treatment can provide relief for pain that may not show up in traditional scans. Myofascial Release is said to relieve pain while improving physical and emotional functioning.

The treatment can provide relief from:

  • Acute/chronic pain
  • Pelvic problems
  • Paediatric problems
  • Cervical pain & dysfunction
  • Birth & abuse trauma
  • Restriction of motion
  • Sports medicine
  • Recurring injuries
  • Fibromyalgia

Reflexognosy

Reflexognosy is a combination of massage, chiropractic and podiatric treatments. It is based on the theory that the feet have reflex points. When these reflex points are stimulated, they correspond and provide wellness to respective organs and structures throughout the body.

The treatment is specifically applied to the feet and lower half of the leg—addressing all bones, muscles and tendons in the process. Carol conducts these treatments before and after orthotic fittings. The fitting of cyber-orthotics includes taking a non-weight bearing foot imprint in a foam plank. This imprint is then scanned and sent to Canada by Carol with a 2–3-week turnaround. Ask Carol today about reflexognosy therapies.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage is a physical therapy used to treat a vast selection of injuries. The treatment involves using several specialised techniques to locate and repair any damage. This process also helps to support and speed up the body's repair mechanisms. Remedial treatments trace the source of discomfort to the original cause—healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms.

Key benefits of Remedial Massage include:

  • Stimulations to the blood supply allowing toxins in the muscles to be removed
  • Calming of the peripheral nervous system to ease pain & discomfort
  • Toning & relaxing of muscles to improve joint mobility
  • Improvement to the health of the cells
  • Repairing of tissues
  • Easing of stiffness
  • Muscular & skeletal dysfunctions

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy can aid in treating muscle issues and associated aching and stiffness. The therapy itself is applied to these tight/thick muscles/ligaments. Trigger Point Therapy can relieve pain or release pressure by rubbing and applying firm pressure on specific spots or knots within a muscle.

This treatment is beneficial when other forms of traditional western treatments have failed to eliminate your pain. In our experience, Trigger Point Therapy is very useful in the relief of:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee pain
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches
  • Muscle pain
  • Joint pain
